About RSS
What is RSS? RSS or Really Simple Syndication is a means to share information without having to constantly visit a site to see what's new. With the wide-spread use of the web and resulting mountains of information, RSS allows you to consolidate disparate information into a single place. RSS Feeds, or summaries, provide titles, short descriptions and other useful information, along with a link back to the site. Additionaly, RSS feeds are updated automatically. How to Subscribe To receive regular RSS updates, you will need a special aggregator. There are numerious free aggregators to choose from. Google Reader or MyYahoo are easy to use and integrate with your preferred web browser. When using a browser configured with Google Reader, MyYahoo or another aggregators, you can click the XML image link, which brings you to a feed page. Many sites will provide an option to click the link for your preferred tool. In some cases, you may need to copy/paste the link into the reader. Many browsers, such as Internet Explorer 7, Firefox and Opera provide built-in aggregators, allowing you to easily check news as you surf the web.
